Comics By Request: People, Places In Need Of Funding

By Tom Spurgeon

image* the Birdcage Bottom Books crowd-funder seems to be going astoundingly well. They are inches away from their initial ask as I type this, the ask seems reasonable and more likely to draw people to their side than drive them away, and the books they're doing complement one another.

* the recent Gahan Wilson ask is near the halfway point of its initial ask, impressive given its size.

* the latest David Willis book is off to a smashing start.

* not comics: my version of a 'zine celebrating the role-playing game Traveller would only cover character generation.

* here's a campaign for a sequel to the talked-about Black.

* finally: here's a posthumous Steve Ditko publication from the late cartoonist's partnership with Robin Snyder. For some of my friends, those Ditko comics are the sole justification for the entire idea of comics crowd-funding.
