Could Certain Comics Be Restricted?
An article in the
Baltimore Sun about strangely harsh regulations regarding the publication of dissident authors uses Marjane Satrapi's
Persepolis as an example of a book that's sold extremely well providing just such a viewpoint to North American readers curious about the wider world. Given the role that comics can play as underground literature, it would be a great shame were such a law to restrict future works of potentially great value; this seems like a fight worth tracking very closely.
