CR Week In Review
The top comics-related news stories from April 12 to April 18, 2008:
1. Gordon Lee case
dismissed.
2. Arabic-language graphic novel
seized in Cairo.
3. NYCC
launches its third edition, maybe the only Spring one (2009's will be in February) as both local and national comics talent converges on a show highly reminiscent of the San Diego Con in the late '90s, plus a more significant book trade presence.
Winner Of The Week
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, with news of dismissal in the Gordon Lee case, an effective week of fund raising related to the NYCC, and
Losers Of The Week
The prosecutors who wasted taxpayer money on an extended, exhausting legal strategy in Rome, Georgia.
Quote Of The Week
"And we are so fucking relieved, it was very, very long and hard and incredibly stressful for Gordon..." --
Neil Gaiman
