Dark Horse Comics To Go Same Day Digital On December 14

The publisher Dark Horse Comics will offer its comics in digital form on the same day as printed material starting December 14. The relevant PR is posted here. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Releasing one's books in digital form on the same day as print has not only reached a strategic tipping point, but DC doing it starting early this Fall without the sky caving in on brick-and-mortar retail has removed the stigma of other folks doing it. Dark Horse is reasonably aggressive when it comes to pricing -- working back from a non-99 cent price point to try and achieve a sales boost at that point -- and bundling its comics, or at least seems to be in comparison to the bigger mainstream publishers, so it might be interesting to see how this latest move has an impact on the general marketplace.
