Eisner Awards Names Their 2012 Judges

In a widely-disseminated piece of PR that hit comics sites yesterday, the Eisner Awards named their 2012 judges. They are prolific writer-about-comics Brigid Alverson; prominent and widely-respected retailer Calum Johnston; writer, librarian and educator Jesse Karp, author, academic and curator Ben Saunders; cartoonist, industry veteran and CBLDF board president Larry Marder and CCI board of directors fixture Mary Sturhann. The Eisners have a juried nominations process, after which those nominations are presented to voters from the comics industry. That process takes place in March.

The awards program also set a March 6 deadline for submitting nominations. The awards program is traditionally held on the Friday of Comic-Con International in San Diego.
