Festivals Extra: California Coastal Commission Approves New Additions To San Diego Convention Center

The superior link-blogger Kevin Melrose has a nice report up
here summarizing the California Coastal Commission's unanimous approval of improvements to the San Diego Convention Center. It is thought that improvements are necessary for the city to keep its largest conventions, including Comic-Con International. As you can see from the photo that Melrose includes, the space targeted is basically a significant chunk of the land between the convention center and the Bayside Hilton.
