Funky Winkerbean May Have Died In That Auto Accident After All

So I guess the ongoing storyline in Funky Winkerbean has potentially cast him in a fuzzy purgatory devoid of human contact, kind of like the newspaper cartoon pages themselves these days. Okay, that crack makes little to no sense, but it seemed like some attempt at a joke was required there. Anyway, not since Gasoline Alley a few years back -- and, for that matter, the highly dour Funky Winkerbean itself for a few years now -- has the potential death of a major character been turned into an ongoing narrative. I fully approve. Kill them all.

A side entertainment here, of course, is to enjoy the agitation expressed by the writer originally covering this as a story, a common ailment for writers once they start biting into storylines.
