Geoffrey Hook Receives Medal Of The Order Of Australia

image

The cartoonist Geoffrey Hook is making the media rounds in Australia after being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia. The Tasmanian-born cartoonist began his career in 1961, becoming firmly ensconced at the Herald Sun (I believe it was just the Sun then) in the mid-1960s. Retired to frequent freelancing starting in 1993, Hook was at his most influential in the mid-1970s. The award is a civilian honor given for outstanding service.
