Giovanni Boselli, 1924-2007

imageVarious European-focused web sites are reporting the passing of the Italian humor cartoonist, children's book and magazine illustrator and animator Giovanni Sforza Boselli. Boselli was born in Africa, in the then-Italian colony of Eritrea. His family moved to Italy when Boselli was 10, where he began his study of art. His entry at Lambiek.net has Boselli working for Il Giornalino in 1969 on the feature Susy La Rossa. Later efforts included Gec Sparaspar, Bellocchio e Leccamuffo and Il Signor Beniamino, a feature he also wrote. In the 1980s he drew Dodo & Coco for longtime client Il Giornalino.
