Go, Look: Cartoonists And Fort Hood
There's one of those helpful gathering of cartoons up at Cagle.com, this time on the murder and wounding of military personnel at Fort Hood by a deranged gunman and military psychiatrist. What makes this grouping more interesting is that Cagle
recently decried the lack of papers willing to use non-humorous cartoons on an event like Veterans Day. I know it's not a connection he likely intended, but I think that horrible story and its responses in cartoon form may provide something of a test case on the collective ability of editorial cartoonists to respond in sober, serious fashion to such a major story. If you're interested, you might look in.
