Go, Read: Maxon Crumb Profile A better-than-usual profile of Maxon Crumb in the San Francisco Chronicle goes past the surface oddities of the cartoonist and illustrator's idiosyncratic life and into the details that complete the picture: a life-saving friendship, descirptions of current work, how much money the artist brings in and in what manner he makes his living. I also like the matter-of-fact treatment of how Crumb came across in the Terry Zwigoff film about his brother, and the way a couple of the more colorful quotes seem coaxed out of him.
