* one of my favorite cartoonists in the world just by virtue of his specific focus, yachting cartoonist Mike Peyton, is to be honored by the Royal Cruising Club on March 1 for his services to the sport/activity/lifestyle. The 91-year-old Peyton plans to be in attendance.
* the late Mario Miranda has been named one of five people to receive this year's Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor. It's given out for outstanding service in a variety of fields, including the arts. Miranda died in mid-December last year.
