Schipper Wins First Prix Artemisia

ToutenBD reports that the premier Prix Atemisia, designed to go to a comic written and or drawn by at least one woman, has gone to Johanna Schipper for the Futuropolis book Nous Ames Sauvages. The book was selected by a jury from a 10-book nominees list, and the award will be formally presented on the Saturday of this year's Angouleme Festival (January 26). According to the press coverage, Schipper was born in Taiwan in 1967, and much of her past work was on comics albums designed for children.
