Lynda Barry Announces On-Line Shift

A Tuesday afternoon entry at
the Drawn and Quarterly blog suggests that the great Lynda Barry will be posting her work on-line in part because of the loss of independent newsweekly clients that have been her bread and butter, primary market for years and years. D&Q will host the strips via a special page yet to be created, while other places to find the world including Barry's interesting
MySpace page and
Marlys Magazine. I'm not sure why that jumps out at me as more significant than the standard announcement of work being offered on-line, but it does, perhaps because of how much I perceived of the alt-weekly model as a major part of my experience with artists like Barry, even more so than their books.
You might just want to follow the first link in order to read four cartoons posted in that announcement.
