Malaysia: Danish Cartoon Crackdown Set Dangerous, Presumptive Tone For Press

It comes on top of a fundraiser for the publication in which it appears, but
this article at
Aliran Monthly makes the case that actions taken by the Malaysian government against two newspapers in terms of their coverage of the
Danish cartoons controversy were the models for a series of actions through which the government controls the press, not to mention the self-censorship involved. I have no means to judge the truth of the situation described, but it's a chilling picture.
