Mid-Morning Hollywood Round-Up

Okay, just kidding, I don't have a round-up and I would be largely unqualified to provide one on comics' goings-on in Hollywood anyway, at least beyond saying things like "Hey, that Thor cast looks like it's rounding into shape." However, there were a couple of stories yesterday that caught my interest.

* DreamWorks has optioned a script from the editor of the I Saw You... comics anthology spearheaded by cartoonist Julia Wertz. Wertz will serve as an Executive Producer. Wertz told CR she did make "a bit of money" from the options but not a significant amount; she also said she opted out of participating as a writer in the project.

* the very talented and very busy Dash Shaw announces/discusses his next animated project, the feature-length Slobs and Nags, after it was announced he'd be participating in the Sundance screenwriters lab with the project. Bonus: Frank Santoro will be doing some drawing on the project. Shaw could definitely take a big bite of the arts world before he's done.
