Missed It: Gary Varvel Wins 2012 National Headliners Award
Gary Varvel of the Indianapolis Starhas won this year's National Headliners Award in the editorial cartooning category. This is a traditional newspaper awards program (coming up on 80 years of existence) coming out of Atlantic City. Varvel's win is noteworthy for a few reasons: the win itself, the win in the context of Varvel's recent run of recognition, and a little bit the fact that Varvel is one of a pretty established breed of right-leaning editorial cartoonists.
