Pierce Askegren, 1955-2006
Pierce Askegren, a prolific writer of prose stories featuring licensed characters from Marvel Comics and other companies,
died in November in his Washington D.C. home after a heart attack. He was 51 years old.
This site missed word of his passing at that time.
Askegren's Marvel-related credits include short stories in
The Ultimate Silver Surfer,
The Ultimate Super-Villains,
Untold Tales of Spider-Man,
The Ultimate Hulk and
The Chick Is In The Mail; his novel credits, ghostwriting credits and co-author credits include
Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk: Rampage;
Spider-Man and Iron Man: Sabotage Spider-Man and Fantastic Four: Wreckage,
Fantastic Four: Countdown to Chaos and
The Avengers and the Thunderbolts. He also pursued science fiction writing, most notably with the Inconstant Moon series.
Word of his passing was released slowly in November while the family sought a cause of death.
