Random Comics News Story Round-Up
* Kristen Lawson on
Oddly Normal Vol. 1. Todd Klein on
Survivor's Club #3 and
The Twilight Children #2. Sean Gaffney on
The Devil Is A Part-Timer! Vol. 3 and
Dorohedoro Vol. 17. John Kane on
a bunch of different comics. Bob Temuka on
All Star Section Eight. Alex Hoffman on
Palefire and
Generous Bosom, Part One.
* not comics: with film,
the middle sags. Three readers sent along that article, and I'm not sure it relates to comics. Comics has seen a growth of blockbuster titles (100K+) without a corresponding increase in middle-class titles, too, but there's a lot of manipulation that goes into those top hits and there seems to be more strength along the bottom whereas with film, when they get to their equivalent of our 15K in sale, the individual project is almost always a disaster.
* Amy Lam talks to
Ebin Lee. Heidi MacDonald talks to
Jason Shiga. Alex Dueben talks to
Richard Sala.
* there are a lot of solid thinkers about comics and critics taking part in
a memories-of-2015 roundtable at Zainab Akhtar's Comics & Cola, and I think just about anyone could find something in there to which they could directly relate.
* not comics:
tokens, tokens, tokens.
* finally,
Steve Geppi holding forth on social media = always a good time.
