Random Comics News Story Round-Up

* it's official: Walking Dead #100 is the top-selling individual comic book of 2012. Man, that was one depressing comic.

* Paul Gravett talks to Nina Bunjevac.

* Chris Schweizer draws Stan Sakai and Jeff Smith.

* Henry Chamberlain on Digestate. Johanna Draper Carlson on 21st Century Boys Vol. 1.

* this book is really attractive.

* Bob Scott sent in an e-mail asking me to go look at Molly And The Bear, and so I shall.

* this Steve Brodner New Year's cartoon is a lot of fun of the staring-at variety.

* there is no better news than the promise of new Gabrielle Bell comics.

* don't really know what's going on here, but "Fuck My Jeans" strikes me as a pretty good title.

* finally, Tucker Stone picks his 19 best comics of 2012. It's a solid list, although I have to admit I don't get any sense of Stone as a critic through this list. Like this could be the same list any single person of a dozen turned in. I've been really mean about these top of 2012 lists lately, and I'm not sure exactly why. They collectively feel to me like the sign of some sort of critical rot. On the other hand, just putting it that seriously makes me feel uncomfortable, too.
