Random Comics News Story Round-Up

* the mainstream comics legend Carmine Infantino objects to having a recent interview called his final interview and other details of the process; the interviewer defends himself: all here.

* go, read: Terry Gilliam on Harvey Kurtzman.

* not comics, mostly: I totally missed this but Pages has closed down. Yikes.

image* here's a nice little interview with Seth in conjunction with Amazon.com's best of year so far promotion. According to patterns established in previous years, Amazon.com could name their best of year books five weeks from now, so enjoy the so-far lists while you can.

* Simon and Schuster and Boom! Studios sign a distribution agreement.

* there's a nice discussion here of the recent TCJ interview with Trevor Von Eeden.

* this piece by Jason Thompson on the Cult Of The Child feels important, although I lack the context to tell you if it is or not.

* Heidi MacDonald has a report from the Asian American ComicCon, which took place on Saturday in NYC. In another post, she looks over 1989 Comic-Con material.

* the retailer Mike Sterling answers questions about the Wednesday Comics project from a shop's point of view. Kevin Church looks at the comic like a carpenter or architect might.

* finally, hell yeah: "But I continue to be amazed at the number of people who profess to be fans of Superman in particular and comic book superheroes in general who propagate this idiotic notion that Warner Bros. and DC Comics are somehow the injured party in this dispute and that the Siegels are opportunistic and greedy people out to deprive the fans of the character they've come to know and love." -- Tom McLean
