Random Comics News Story Round-Up

* I'm glad that Steve Geppi is on Facebook, if only because I've never seen a birthday or birthday given for him before.

image* the retailer and prominent comics industry issues blogger Chris Butcher re-visits the lack of all-ages comics argument to which he was a major contributor. Johanna Draper Carlson makes a short list of comics that could make up a kids comics boutique. One of the Toon Books gang pipes in, including a crackling last line.

* Kristy Valenti looks at two comics-related books meant for librarians.

* it's good to get to read R. Fiore any time you can read R. Fiore: he begins his Comics Journal posting with one on Metropolis before Superman.

* I have no idea what's going on here, but it made the person standing over my shoulder laugh.

* check out the powerhouse line-up of signings by D&Q talent at the forthcoming Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Fest. Their participation in this free show is really interesting, and hopefully brings some people out.

* here's Douglas Wolk applying Kant to some of his favorite comics, performance style.

* finally, here's a fascinating issue I've yet to see anyone raise: whether or not the new wave of graphic novels should start to be considered for the various high-end children's book awards.
