Rodrigo De Matos won this year's Press Cartoon Europe Grand Prix for the above cartoon related to austerity measures in Portugal and the good news shared by that company's national team qualifying for World Cup. That's an award that's been around since 1998 (first award in 1999), is maybe the more significant prize given out in Europe for editorial-type cartooning and involves an approximately $10K (USD) cash pay out.
