Store Sells Off New Comics Business

ICv2.com columnist Steve Bennett talks here about his shop's owner selling the new comics portion of Dark Star Books to a former manager who is opening up a shop called Super-Fly Comics & Games a short distance away. Bennett casts the move as an opportunity to develop some of Dark Star's other product areas, which will include back issue comics and graphic novels. I think it's a potentially noteworthy story not just for how both stores now develop, which will certainly be worth checking in on, but for how it calls into question how stores are conceptually structured right now. Is it possible to sell other types of comics without the churn of new comics sales and the customer loyalty weekly business engenders?
