Noteworthy comics-makers Shaun Tan and Phil Foglio are among the nominees in the Best Professional Artist category of the just-announced 2008 Hugo Awards for Science Fiction and Fantasy, according to this full list at the Forbidden Planet blog. Tan's The Arrival was also nominated in the Best Related Book category. Michael Chabon and Neil Gaiman are folks with a relationship to comics nominated in non-comics categories; I'm sure there may be more that I'm simply missing. The awards will be given out at a ceremony in Denver on August 9.
