Wiley Miller Forbids Syndicate From Issuing Advance Warnings On Comics

Alan Gardner
picks up on a exchange between Wiley Miller and RC Harvey
in Harvey's TCJ feature that indicates the award-winning cartoonist will not allow his syndicate to send advance word about possible controversial content to client newspapers. That seems to me a smart move because it will likely allow Miller more of the freedom he wants to enjoy as a cartoonist to do things like the Muhammad cartoon that was
ridiculously pulled, and it places the burden of negotiating such issues back where it belongs, on the newspaper. The occasion for making this observation was the total lack of reaction to
a recent Sunday cartoon that took some severe shots at radio and print news media.
