Your 2009 BD Boum Prix Winners
BD Boum, the 26th Festival de Bande Dessiné held in the town of Blois, France, announced its yearly winners at the close of its festival two weekends ago. Its grand prize went to Emmanuel Guibert, who takes the reins from previous prize-winner David B. That prize is adjudicated on the lifetime achievements of the creator, and I'm interested in such awards as signs pointing towards who is respected in that industry that certain way. The 2009 prizes were:
Grand Boum-Ville De Blois 2009: Emmanuel Guibert
Prix Nouvelle Republique: Marc-Antoine Mathieu
Prix Special Nouvell Republique: La résistance du sanglier, Stéphane Levallois (Futuropolis)
Prix Ligue de l'Enseignement Pour Le Jeune Public: José Lapin T. 1: Une carotte pour deux, Lepithec, Messina (E. Proust); Annie Zoo, Jean-David Morvan, Nicolas Nemiri, (Delcourt) (6-9 Year Olds)
Prix Jacques Lob: Pascal Rabaté
Prix Conseil General: Les quatre de Baker Street, Jean-Blaise Djian, Olivier Legrand, David Etien (Vents d'Ouest) (10-14 Year Olds)
Prix Conseil Regional: L'affaire des affaires, Denis Robert, Lindingre, Laurent Astier (Dargaud)
There was also a "Medailles En Chocolat" award given to the judges, which I believe is a joke award, perhaps to end the prizes on a light note. Since I can't make out exactly who those went to, I'm going to skip listing them. I'm not against chocolate or anything.
