* the wire reports are linking King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia's call for an interfaith conference to pressures caused by the Danish cartoons, and I have no reason to disbelieve them.

* FrontPage profiles Wafa Sultan and her stand against the response to the Muhammed caricatures.

* Europe is more fearful post-caricatures, asserts one source.

* Germany fears an escalation in actions against the cartoons.

* Abdelaziz Bouteflika sees the Danish cartoons as one of the last signs of resistance before a European turn to the Koran likely to come by the end of the century.
