CR Week In Review
The top comics-related news stories from November 28 to December 4, 2009:
1. Aunt Jemima cartoon from historical African-American newspaper
causes consternation.
2. Jessamine County library
to move their GN section nearer the adult stuff, in wake of concerns raised by library workers that some of the work offered there was not at community standards for younger people -- library workers that had been fired for trying to enforce such a policy in back-door fashion.
3. Angouleme
has their official kick-off press conference for the 2010 iteration; the festival is loaded, although the prizes (The Essentials) are changed.
Winner Of The Week
Marc-Antoine Mathieu
Losers Of The Week
A number of superhero series that happen to fall out of the event comic spotlight, no matter how well they're promoted individually.
Quote Of The Week
"The conservative answer is never enforced because a conservative likes an easy divorce as much as anyone, but that still leaves the liberal question to be answered, and to evade it is a kind of moral cowardice." --
R. Fiore
