King Features Syndicate Commits $100K To Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship

King Features Syndicate announced yesterday it has committed $100,000 to establish a scholarship named after it former Editor-In-Chief Jay Kennedy, who had been at the company from 1988 until his drowning death earlier this year. The fund will be administered by the Foundation of the National Cartoonists Society. The award will be given out during the Reuben Awards, held at the yearly National Cartoonists Society convention, which the recipient will attend. The syndicate plans additional fund-raising. Contributions can be made by addressing a check to the National Cartoonists Society Foundation and mailing ito to National Cartoonists Society Foundation, Attention: Donations, 341 N. Maitland Avenue, Suite 130, Maitland, FL 32751-4761.
